What is Melt Method?
The MELT Method® is a simple self-treatment practice designed to help you stay healthy, youthful, and active for a lifetime by reducing the effects of accumulated tension and stress caused by daily living. This full-body method of self-care can be customized to your particular needs – from improving performance and decreasing the risk of repetitive stress injuries to eliminating chronic pain - regardless of what’s causing your pain in the first place.
MELT employs the use of gentle tools and self-care protocols to improve the supportive qualities of the connective tissue system as a vehicle to restore neurological stability and sensory motor control. The specialized MELT balls and rollers allow you to learn gentle application and specific compression-techniques suitable for anyone, at any age.
We have several sets of Melt props available in the studio for our onsite classes. Many of our Melt and Yoga classes are also offered virtually. You can use the link below to buy your own set to bring to class or use at home.
Melt Method and Yoga
MELT and Yoga Classes
These classes combine the yogic practices of breath awareness and mindfulness with MELT Method practices that incorporate soft foam rollers and balls to bring increased hydration to tissues, freedom of movement, and body awareness. MELT reduces pain, stiffness, stress, and tension. It has been clinically proven to reduce chronic pain.
Because of these benefits, MELT is a natural compliment to yoga practice. MELT reduces the risk of injury, prevents overstretching, and improves joint stability— especially for hypermobile yogis or those dealing with chronic tension. With simple tools like the MELT Hand & Foot Therapy Kit and Soft Rollers, you'll hydrate your connective tissue and restore alignment so your yoga feels more effortless, safe, and sustainable.
Whether you're new to yoga or a seasoned practitioner, MELT techniques are a missing piece to deepen your practice without strain.
Fascia, MELT, and Yoga
Fascia is the connective tissue that runs throughout our bodies in a weblike structure. This fascial web also holds water and helps facilitate the glide of our tissues as we move.
Through the course of daily living, we all use repetitive patterns of movement. These patterns can cause areas of fascia to get stuck and dried out, creating friction and stress on tissues that lead to joint pain, muscles soreness, and more. Melt and Yoga use the tools of Melt Method with yogic techniques of mindfulness and breath to support the fascia to heal and re-hydrate.
